The new year has brought changes to the personnel structure at PORTOS. The firm’s senior management has been strengthened by attorney Jan Fical, who has become its new partner. Changes have also taken place in the leadership of two legal teams.
Jan Fical has long specialized in public procurement law and the preparation of strategic investment projects. He is also active in litigation and criminal law, including representing clients in adhesion proceedings. He has been involved in a number of significant cases for clients from both the private and public sectors and has actively developed and later led the firm’s public procurement practice.
His story is also a testament to the fact that with sufficient diligence and determination, one can rise quickly through the firm’s ranks. Jan Fical joined the firm in 2017 as a junior associate, became an attorney in 2021, and as of April 2023, led one of the legal teams.
As of January 1, 2025, he is succeeded in the role of lead attorney by Kryštof Kosina, a member of his former team. Kosina will continue working with key clients, particularly in the petrochemical industry and public administration (municipalities and city-owned enterprises).
Another legal team is now led by Ondřej Grygar. He provides clients with comprehensive services for the management of private and business assets and advises both Czech and multinational companies in the areas of contract and corporate law, including Corporate Governance, reorganizations, and acquisitions.
