The PORTOS law firm won the title of Law Firm of the Year 2025 in three categories. It defended last year's success in the categories of Commercial Law and Pro Bono / CSR. For the first time ever, it also won an award in the category of Dispute Resolution and Arbitration. The announcement of the 18th annual competition took place on Wednesday evening at the Municipal House in Prague.
"Defending the title of Law Firm of the Year 2025 in the Commercial Law category is a key indicator for us that we are doing our job well. This area of law has been a central part of our agenda since the firm was founded more than 30 years ago. I am delighted that our efforts and results in this area are appreciated by both our clients and the professional community," said Markéta Flanderková, a partner at the firm.
She accepted the award from competition organizer Miroslav Chochola. Other indicators also confirm the firm's success. The firm's revenues in 2024 again exceeded half a billion Czech crowns. Its team now includes approximately 150 lawyers and attorneys and dozens of other experts in related fields. Following its successful expansion into Slovakia and the European market, PORTOS also opened a permanent office in Dubai in the fall.
The firm was also selected as the leader in this year's competition in the Dispute Resolution and Arbitration category. "I see the award as a symbolic milestone confirming our expertise in another area of law. Similar to last year, we are receiving the Law Firm of the Year award in this category for the first time. However, we have a long list of successful cases in this area," added Jan Fical, a partner at the firm.
Similar to corporate law, the area of dispute resolution and arbitration is also linked to the history of the PORTOS law firm, particularly through Prof. Zdeněk Češka, co-founder of the firm. He has been involved in this field for many years, both in academia and in his practice as a lawyer.
For the twelfth time in a row, the firm also defended its title in the Pro Bono / CSR category. An emphasis on social responsibility is inextricably linked to the functioning of the firm. PORTOS was involved in the creation of the Bohemian Heritage Fund, which has been systematically supporting projects in the fields of classical music and fine arts since 2009. The firm has continued this activity with a new project, Portos Art Society, which connects law and business with culture.
The firm was also selected as one of the highly recommended and recommended firms in a total of 14 key categories.
