The law firm PORTOS received three awards yesterday at the announcement of the Law Firm of the Year 2024 in Prague’s Žofín Palace. For the very first time, it won the title in the Asset Management category. At the same time, it successfully defended last year’s victory in the Corporate Law category, which forms a core part of the firm’s practice, and for the eleventh consecutive time, it won in the Pro Bono & CSR category. This confirmed its position as a long-standing leader in the field of social responsibility.
The award for Law Firm of the Year 2024 in the Asset Management category was received from the organizer Miroslav Chochola by the firm’s partner, Markéta Flanderková. “We have been consistently focusing on asset management in our practice for about ten years. Our work is based on a careful approach and experience gained both domestically and abroad. Before the institutes of trust and foundation funds were introduced here, my colleagues and I gained practical experience in Liechtenstein. This gave us the necessary head start,” she explained on behalf of the law firm PORTOS, which in recent years has also been expanding its asset management activities into Slovakia.
The firm was also named leader in the Corporate Law category, which remains a central part of PORTOS’s agenda. The award was accepted from the organizers by another partner, Jan Sůra. PORTOS also successfully defended its award in the Pro Bono & CSR category for the eleventh consecutive year. Emphasis on social responsibility has been an inseparable part of the firm’s operation for the past 15 years, especially thanks to the Bohemian Heritage Fund foundation. Since 2009, it has supported a number of artistic projects, primarily in the fields of classical music and visual arts.
The firm was also selected as highly recommended and recommended in a total of 14 key categories.
“The past year has been pivotal and full of challenges for us. The firm achieved record numbers and successfully completed a rebranding after 30 years of operation. I am therefore very proud that, together with my colleagues, we could for the first time in PORTOS’s history receive three awards. Even more so because these categories are deeply rooted in the DNA of our firm. Whether it’s asset management, corporate law, or Pro Bono & CSR, in all cases it is the result of consistent and systematic work by all our colleagues, whose number has significantly increased in recent years and now exceeds 150,” added the firm’s director, Filip Drnec, who accepted the Pro Bono & CSR award from the organizers.
