Repatriation is the right of a state to organize assistance. However, there is no legal entitlement to it, warns Jan Sůra.

Several repatriation flights carrying Czech citizens stranded abroad due to the conflict in the Middle East have landed in Prague in recent days. Hundreds of Czechs have returned from the affected areas, but thousands more are still waiting to return home. However, a lawyer interviewed by Nova TV pointed out that there is no legal right to repatriation.
In recent days, many Czechs who are stuck abroad due to the conflict in the Middle East and cannot get home have been turning to lawyers in the Czech Republic for help. "In recent days, we have been trying to get quite a few people out of the United Arab Emirates, communicating with both Czech and local authorities," said Jan Sůra, a lawyer from the Portos law firm, in an interview with Televizní noviny.
According to him, people who were forced to stay abroad and traveled with a travel agency are entitled to accommodation for up to three days. "On the other hand, if they have not yet traveled abroad, they can request a free cancellation of the trip and a free refund of the money already paid," Sůra added.
